Maintenance of the Reserve continues to be a problem. Despite requests, maintenance schedules have still not been made available to the SMBA, nor confirmation that these schedules are being met.
The SMBA is continuing to press Auckland Council for more information on maintenance and clarification of its view on the definition of noxious weeds. Council should be able to maintain the reserve to the foot of the cliff but the public/private boundaries are still unclear. The association continues to work with council to find a solution to this boundary dilemma.
The SMBA will also seek action on more regular cleaning of the pedestrian overbridge and the problem of blocked drains on the bridge. Many of the nosings on the access steps have been missing for some months and need replacing.
